Two giant Bernese Mountain Dogs become best friends with a little girl: they even play dolls together

A beautiful example of the special bond between dogs and children is Ruby and her two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Lucy and Biggie, who share every aspect of their lives.

As Ruby’s parents, Natasha and Craig, tell, as soon as they brought their daughter home from the hospital, they immediately introduced her to the family’s two favorites at the time. Lucy and Biggie, the two giant Bernese Mountain Dogs welcomed the little one not only with joy, but also with love and careful attention.

It started in the womb

In the case of Ruby, it’s no exaggeration to say that her special relationship with the dogs began in the womb. As her mother looks back on her pregnancy, she fondly remembers how her huge dogs approached her ever-growing belly.

As several studies have proven, dogs are very aware when a woman is pregnant. In some cases they even know it before the mother-to-be herself.

The two giants were much more than pets: they were friends and even siblings to Ruby. Biggie, the male dog, was always on the lookout as a real big brother, watching Ruby’s every move and making her laugh many times. And Lucy, like a nurse, surrounded the little one with infinite tenderness. As her mother put it, they were connected in a special way.

The family has grown

In the meantime, Ruby had a little brother. Sonny also became a member of the team, so the four of them formed an inseparable unit. They played together, slept together, ate together. Shared everything with each other – even the dog door, which the children navigated as skillfully as the four-legged ones.

Caring owners

The two small children conscientiously took care of their big friends. They walked them a lot, fed them and never let them get bored.

Common holiday

The joint camping was one of the family’s favorite programs, where they naturally took their beloved dogs with them. This trip together were an unforgettable experiences for all of them.

In the photos taken on vacation, it’s touching to see how the two grown-up animals are full-fledged family members. And they still remaining dogs: they run a lot, take long walks, and go on adventures with their loved ones.

Farewell

As can be read on the family’s social media page, they had to say goodbye to Lucy, but as they write, her memory will remain with them forever. Since then, Biggie has been joined by Bula, also a Bernese Mountain Dog.
