The poor Labrador was scared and decided not to move at the Halloween decorations in their garden. This makes it seem at first glance as if you are part of the concept. The second time around.
The encounter between the Labrador and the Hallowenn decorations resulted in an incredibly funny scene: the poor dog thought he was in the middle of a group of cats, so he thought it best to remain motionless. Or did he just want to blend into the composition because he was black? Having seen the footage, it’s safe to say that he was impressed by what he saw.
Halloween for kids is mainly about trick-or-treating, while for adults it’s more about making imaginative and spooky decorations. As well as carved pumpkin lanterns, there are plenty of showy indoor and outdoor decorations to be found this time of year. However, the creator of the cat garden spectacular below certainly didn’t think about how the sight of five black cats would affect your pet.
Adam Flores, the owner of the Labrador on the video, Maverick, smiled as he described their dog’s reaction, which you can see for yourself in the video below.
The poor dog was visibly shocked to see the group of kittens and stood like a statue in the middle of the cat pack for long seconds. Only when his owner approached him did he relax. At first, only his tail started to wag, and that was the first time an outside observer would be “struck” by the sight of a dog in the flesh.
The video is indeed a source of amusement, but it’s worth talking about, how the holidays affect four-legged friendsand the changes they bring. Some of these changes can have a surprisingly negative impact on dogs. Let’s take a look at what to look out for on a special day!
Most holidays, whether Halloween, Christmas or even a birthday, involve guests. A lot of people, especially people who are unfamiliar or rarely seen, can be frustrating for the animal. Especially if everyone wants to pet it or play with it a little. Not all dogs take this well. If you experience this, it’s a good idea to take your pet to a quiet place and let them calm down.
The holidays are also about delicious snacks. It’s often the case that the family pet spoils his stomach with too much or the wrong kind of food. And in the worst cases, he eats something that is poisonous to him. Chocolate is a classic example, but also onions, grapes, raisins, caffeine, and foods and drinks containing alcohol. Even on these special occasions, make sure your buddy only eats food that is healthy for him!
The best case scenario is when a festive decoration is awesome, but sometimes it can also be accident-prone for your dog. Some can cause problems if ingested – like creations made from poisonous plants such as ornaments, or items filled with phosphorescent material – but there’s also the potential danger of ingestion or intestinal blockage. To avoid these, never let your furry friend play with ornaments, especially don’t let him chew on them. A broken piece or a fallen item can cause a huge, even life-threatening problem!
Responsible owners know that for their dog, the agenda is very important. In order for dogs to be balanced, they need to have a regular routine, even during the holidays. Don’t miss your usual walks and playtime during this time either, otherwise your doggy will become moody and anxious, which is bad for both of you. You can even include an extra lap or some fun to compensate for these unusual events. Your sweetheart will be very grateful!
